Hauberg Gardens Benefit From Upcoming Fundraiser

Rock Island, IL, May 16, 2022 – Guardians of the Prairie and Forest, Perennial Crops Nursery and Mariposa Design are hosting a Native Plant Sale at the Hauberg Estate with proceeds benefiting restoration efforts of the estate.  The event will be held on Saturday, May 21st from 9AM to 4PM and Sunday, May 22nd from noon to 4PM. Hauberg is located at 1300 24th Street, Rock Island, IL 61201.

Gardening with native plants saves water, creates wildlife habitat and provide natural character to your garden and lawn. A wide variety of native trees, shrubs and perennials will be available for purchase. Native plant landscapes are local and naturally occurring with little, or very low, maintenance. Plants will be available to “Build a Monarch Butterfly Nursery.” To learn more about native plants and see the wide variety available to gardeners, stop by the Native Plant Sale at the Hauberg Estate.

On Sunday, May 22nd the Friends of Hauberg will be celebrating Hauberg’s famed landscape designer Jen Jensen. The free open house at the estate will feature “The Living Green documentary at 11AM, 1PM and 3PM and tours of the grounds. After seeing and being inspired by the Jens Jensen landscape, don’t forget to stop by the Native Plant Sale being held in the Carriage House area. 

The Friends of Hauberg Civic Center Foundation is a 501(c) (3) organized for charitable and educational purposes to oversee the preservation and sustainability of the Hauberg Estate, Mansion and Gardens.
