After months of planning, building and planting, an opening celebration of Susanne’s Formal Rose Garden will take place on August 15th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The restoration of Susanne Denkmann-Hauberg’s beautiful garden has truly been a labor of love by many community volunteers. The FREE event is open to the public. Tours will take place and refreshments will be served.

Beautiful lawns, over a thousand plants, a lighted pergola, large tulip urns and brick pathways have been created following the original plans designed by famous landscape architect Jens Jensen.  Formal landscape was something Jensen was not generally inclined to design but Susanne insisted and Jensen eventually acquiesced. As the old adage says, “The customer is always right.”
